- American Academy of Experts
in Traumatic Stress (AAETS)
The Academy's web site provides a description of the organization,
its membership, credentials, a discussion
forum on traumatic stress, and its official publication Traumatic
Stress.
- David Baldwin's Trauma
Information Pages
Web site has extensive links to material on trauma, including definitions,
full-text articles, related web sites, handouts, and other resources
(databases, e-mail discussion lists, electronic journals, selected
readings, etc.) Compiled by psychologist David Baldwin.
- International Society for Traumatic
Stress Studies (ISTSS)
The web site includes resources for professionals, the public and
the media. It publishes the Journal
of Traumatic Stress, a newsletter and other materials. Also
includes lists of links to related web sites among its resources.
- National Center for PTSD (Post
Traumatic Stress Disorder)
The web site for the National Center for PTSD contains the PILOTS
database (Published International Literature on Traumatic Stress),
"an electronic index to the worldwide literature on post-traumatic
stress disorder (PTSD) and other mental-health consequences of exposure
to traumatic events." The Center's web site also includes fact
sheets, publications,
information for selected audiences and links to related web sites.
- The Psychology of Ethnopolitical
Warfare: reconciliation, recovery, education and healing
Part of the Canadian Psychological Association's web site, this
web page contains links to related web sites, reports, curriculum,
and conference material.

A collection of annotated web links to web sites, papers and other
resources on traumatic stress compiled by Research Associate Professor

- The Traumatic Stress Institute/Center
for Adult and Adolescent Psychotherapy, LLC (TSI/CAAP)
The TSI/CAAP web site provides an overview
on coping with disasters and the stress of traumatic loss, research
materials, descriptions of books, professional training information
and a link to its nonprofit sister organization, TREATI,
Inc., Trauma Research, Education, and Training Institute, Inc.
TREATI's web site has further links to information on a program
in Rwanda and
a specialized training program for mental health and public health
workers, Risking
Connection.
Training Programs, Projects and Publications
- Center
for the Study of Mind and Human Interaction (CSMHI)
The web site for this interdisciplinary center, part of the University
of Virginia's School of Medicine, has descriptions of international
projects which include work in the Caspian and Black Sea, Republic
of Georgia, Estonia, and on a Turkish-Greek dialogue.
- The Center for Victims of Torture
(CVT)
The web site of the Center for Victims of Torture includes a report
on public policy, research statistics, training
resources, and a handbook for working with refugees who may
be torture or war trauma survivors called New
Neighbors, Hidden Scars.
- Draft Guidelines
for International Trauma Training
Guidelines developed by the Task Force on International Trauma Training,
created in November 1999 by the International Society for Traumatic
Stress Studies. The guidelines are for practitioners who develop
local teaching and training programs intended to enhance local responses
to trauma-related problems.
- A Graduate
Level Curriculum for Trauma Intervention and Conflict Resolution
in Ethnopolitical Warfare, May 1 2001
Posted on the Canadian Psychological Association's web site, this
curriculum is a product of the Ethnopolitical Warfare Curriculum
Conference Planning Task Force of the Steering Committee of the
Joint Initiative on Ethnopolitical Warfare of the American and Canadian
Psychological Associations, and was supported by a grant from the
United States Institute of Peace. Also available on the web site
of Psychologists
for Social Responsibility.
- Psychosocial
and Trauma Response in Kosovo: a one year training programme
Description of a "one year extra-curricular, inter-faculty training
course on psychosocial and trauma response" produced by the International
Organization for Migration (IOM), in cooperation with the Faculties
of Philosophy and Medicine of the University of Pristina.
- International
Trauma Studies Program
Web site includes five training programs: Training Program in International Trauma Studies, Refuge: Refugee Community Resource Center, Disaster Preparedness and Response, International Collaborations, Theater Arts Against Political Violence. The ITSP is now a training and research program at Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health.
- Opportunities Industrialization
Centers International, Inc.
Web site of the organization, "a network of 46 self-help skills
training programs in 19 countries," includes a description of its
mission, history, programs,
newsletters and brief reports.
- TWI 4 Kids: Training Workshops
International
The web site for TWI for the Children describes the mission
of the organization, its work in Bosnia and several projects,
