Lyme Disease and related coinfections: neglected health condition

Lyme Disease is often diagnosed or labeled as many other illnesses:  Multiple Sclerosis, ALS (Lou Gerhigs), Parkinsons Disease, Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgis, Lupus, psychiatric illness and dementia.

When infection is found and appropriate antimicrobials are given, people often regain their place in society and community.

Infections are treatable, and less expensive than conditions such as those listed above.

The cost to families, communities and society as a whole when people are not properly diagnosed and treated is incalculable.

Chronic or terminal conditions that could be arrested or reversed with  traditional approaches to infections:  treat until resolved, would return quality of life to thousands and financial stability to many more.

Our doctors need federal protection to diagnose and treat these complex infections.

Patients and doctors need relief from insurance denials and rejection.

Free doctors and their infected patients from the commercial politics that control the medical education and handling of this disease.

i agree, doctors should continue to diagnose if patients are not responding to known treatments, because chances are they got it wrong.   Doctors please keep searching for the cause and stop trying to treat the symptoms.
