While the official public comment period for the Tortugas 2000 Scoping Process was completed on December 17, 1998, there have been and will continue to be a number of different ways the public can have input into the process of establishing the Ecological Reserve:

• Tortugas 2000 Scoping Meetings were held across South Florida during October and November 1998.
• Continue to visit this web site, developed and maintained by the FKNMS. This web site will be used to post the implementation schedule, provide updates, and accept public comment on the Environmental Impact Statement and alternatives as they are developed.
• Read about the recent ecological characterization and socioeconomic forums which were open to the public and involved some public comment.
• Express your concerns through one of the Sanctuary Advisory Council subcommittee members.
• Provide formal public comment on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement when that is released in the Spring of 1999.
