In collaboration with authors and publishers, the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) is making available searchable biomedical books for the web.

Gateway

The NLM Gateway is a Web-based system that lets users search simultaneously in multiple retrieval systems at the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM). It allows users of NLM services to initiate searches from one Web interface, providing "one-stop searching" for many of NLM's information resources or databases.

MEDLINE/PubMed

MEDLINE® (Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online) is the U.S. National Library of Medicine's® (NLM) premier bibliographic database that contains over 16 million references to journal articles in life sciences with a concentration on biomedicine. PubMed  provides to MEDLINE and includes additional selected life sciences journals not in MEDLINE.

NCBI Malaria Genetics and Genomics

This web resource provides data and information relevant to malaria genetics and genomics. These resources include organism specific sequence BLAST databases (Plasmodium falciparum only, all Plasmodium ), genome maps, linkage markers, and information about genetic studies. Links are provided for other malaria web sites and genetic data on related apicomplexan parasites.

The NLM Catalog provides access to NLM bibliographic data for over 1.2 million journals, books, audiovisuals, computer software, electronic resources, and other materials via the NCBI Entrez retrieval system. Entrez is the text-based search and retrieval system used at NCBI for services including PubMed, Journals, OMIM, Nucleotide and Protein Sequences, Protein Structures, Complete Genomes, Taxonomy, and others.

PubMed Central (PMC)

PubMed Central (PMC) is the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) free digital archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature. Participation by publishers in PMC is voluntary, although participating journals must meet certain editorial and technical standards. PMC, itself, is not a publisher. Access to PMC is free and unrestricted.
