MMS Industry Awards Program and Luncheon

April
10, 2008 marked the second year with more than 700 attendees at the
10-year anniversary of the Industry Awards Program and Luncheon. This event
recognizes individuals and companies for outstanding offshore safety
achievements and performance in addition to revenue management. Award
recipients include Outer Continental Shelf lessees, operators, and
contractors, as well as companies operating, reporting, and paying royalties
on onshore Federal and Indian oil, gas, and solid mineral leases.
Attended by individuals from industry,
government and the public, this year's event marked the 25th
anniversary of the SAFE (Safety Award for Excellence) Award
Program.
Award categories are:

Safety Award
for Excellence
in four separate classifications:

High OCS Activity Operator |
|
Moderate OCS Activity Operator |
|
Production Contractor |
|
Drilling Contractor.
These awards recognize and commend companies that go the extra
mile to enhance safety and environmental protection. The
MMS selects a maximum of five finalists in each of the four
categories. |

Revenues Stewardship Award recognizes companies who
demonstrate exceptional compliance in reporting production and
paying royalties on Federal and Indian mineral leases. The 2008
