Search Chemical Abstracts Online

Now search Chemical Abstracts without wading through multiple print volumes! The Research Library's new resource, Chemical Abstracts Service’s SciFinder, lets you perform chemical structure and reaction searches plus conduct CAS Registry, patent, and scientific literature searches from your desktop.

The Research Library's FY09 license permits one user at a time to log onto this very expensive resource. Before using SciFinder for the first time, please request a username and password.   In most cases you’ll receive your login info in one business day. Then log on and begin your search.

How Do I...

NIST staff can obtain electronic copies of standards by requesting them from NIST's National Center for Standards and Certification Information at x4040 or ncsci@nist.gov. The Center provides standards from ASTM, ANSI, ISO, and many others.

If you need assistance call our Information Desk at x3052 or e-mail library@nist.gov.   See other Frequently Asked Questions
