Status Review for Black Abalone
The draft status review report for black abalone is a comprehensive assessment of black abalone’s biological status and its threats. The draft status review report provides the basis for determining whether black abalone warrants listing as threatened or endangered under the Endangered Species Act (ESA).

The draft status review report for black abalone was released on January 11, 2008, for public comment concurrent with publication of the proposed rule to list black abalone under the ESA. When?  Public comments must be received within 90 days after publication of the proposed rule in the Federal Register.

Will the agency provide significant and relevant public comments to the peer reviewers before they conduct their review?  no
