Birth Defects IG
This Interest Group provides a forum for NIH intramural and extramural scientists and grantees, and investigators at other Federal agencies who are interested in current research across a broad spectrum of topics on birth defects and teratology--ranging from molecular genetics and metabolism to epidemiology and ethics. The Interest Group meets quarterly at two simultaneous locations: Bethesda, Maryland, and Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. The exact seminar schedule and place depend on the availability of speakers and videoconferencing facilities. There are usually two presentations at each meeting, with an opportunity for questions and informal discussion. Responsibility for planning seminar content and arranging for speakers is rotated among the participating NIH institutes and Federal agencies that are represented on the Interest Group's Steering Committee. Any member may suggest topics/speakers to the Executive Secretary. Seminars are open to scientists from NIH, other Federal agencies, and area universities at both locations.
