Apexus Announces $2 Millon Shareback Program For Eligible Participants

IRVING, TX (Nov. 14, 2008) - Apexus, Inc., the Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA) awarded prime vendor for the 340B Program (PVP), announced today its Board of Directors has authorized a shareback program for eligible participants. Nearly 1000 participants will benefit from $2 million dollars in shareback funds. The recipients will receive the Apexus shareback in the form of a wholesaler credit to their respective 340B accounts during the week of November 17.

FASHP, vice president, 340B Prime Vendor Program/Apexus. “HRSA was very supportive of the proposed shareback strategy as a means of further reducing medication costs for the program’s most active participant who are committed to improving access to affordable medication for their patients.”

Founded in 2007, Apexus Inc., a nonprofit corporation, is the HRSA’s Office of Pharmacy Affairs awarded contractor to serve as the prime vendor for the 340B Program. Based in Irving, Texas, the prime vendor’s role is to secure discounts on 340B outpatient drug purchases and other pharmacy related products and services for participating public hospitals, community health centers, and other safety-net health care providers electing to join the program.
