Durham

From Greensboro and Points West: Travel I-85 North to Exit 172 (Durham Freeway South - Route 147). Follow the signs for Duke and VA Medical Centers to Exit 15 (Fulton Street). Turn right at the bottom of the exit ramp and continue approximately 1/4 mile to the VA Medical Center. The Medical Center will be on the right.

From Richmond and Points North: I-85 from the North: Take I-85 South to the Hillandale Road Exit (number 174). Turn left and continue approximately one mile to the VA Medical Center (Fulton Street). The Medical Center will be on the right. From Oxford and Points East: Take I-70 West to the Hillandale Road Exit (number 174). Turn left and continue approximately one mile to the VA Medical Center (Fulton Street). The Medical Center will be on the right.

From Raleigh and Points East: Take I-40 to NC 147 (Durham Expressway) in Research Triangle Park. Take Elba Street/Trent Drive (exit number 15A) and follow the signs. If you continue straight off of the exit ramp, you will arrive at the front entrance to the Medical Center.

To access the Medical Center from the Parking Deck: Take the elevator to the 4th floor of the garage and use the overhead walkway to enter Medical Center. From the walkway exit, turn right, then left to access the Main Lobby and Information Desk.

Hampton

From Richmond:  Take I-64 East. Go about 75 miles towards Williamsburg and Virginia Beach. In Hampton take either Exits 267 or 268 at Hampton University just before entering the Hampton Roads tunnel.

From Virginia Beach:  Take 264 (old 44) W to I-64 West. Go about 44 miles through Hampton Roads Tunnel. Take first exit through the tunnel -- #268. Turn right at the stop light, go over interstate overpass onto Franklin Blvd. VAMC is 6 story bldg. or right with the water on your left.

From Norfolk:  Take 264 East to I-64 West. Go about 22 miles through the Hampton Roads Tunnel. Take Exits 268 or 267. From exit 267 turn left on Emancipation Drive. This takes you to the VAMC in 1/2 mile.

Richmond

From I-95 North or South, take exit 69, (Bells Road) and merge to your right. At the traffic signal, turn left onto Bells Road and continue, crossing over Jeff Davis Hwy. At the second trafftic signal, turn right onto Belt Blvd. Proceed to the second traffic signal and turn right onto Broad Rock Blvd. Turning right at the next traffic signal will lead you to the main entrance of the medical center.

From the North: Take Interstate 85 South to Exit 75. Follow Jake Alexander Blvd. to Brenner Avenue and make a right. The Medical Center is 1.3 miles on the left. From the South: Take Interstate 85 North to Exit 75. Follow Jake Alexander Blvd. to Brenner Avenue and make a right. The Medical Center is 1.3 miles on the left.
