Published | [S.l.] : Research Collaboratory of Structural Bioinformatics, 1998- |
Frequency | Updated monthly. |
Note | The Protein data bank (PDB) is the single worldwide archive of structural data of biological macromolecules. Established at Brookhaven National Laboratories (BNL) in 1971, and transferred to the Research Collaboratory for Structural Bioinformatics (RCSB) in October 1998. The PDB is comprised of: Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology; the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST); San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC) |
Abstract | This database represents the single worldwide repository for the processing and distribution of 3-D biological macromolecular structure data. The Research Collaboratory for Structural Bioinformatics (RCSB) and is supported by funds from the National Science Foundation, the Department of Energy and two units of the National Institutes of Health: the National Institute of General Medical Sciences and the National Library of Medicine. |
