The Thursday, June  22, 2006 Meeting Minutes Follow:

Opening Remarks by Victor Powers on behalf of Diane Frasier, NIH, IAC Co-Chair

Diane Frasier was called away at the last minute to NIH Main Campus. Victor Powers welcomed everyone and kicked the meeting off.  He discussed the exceptional turn out and NITAAC participation at the Health IT Conference and at AFCEA TechNet.

NITAAC’s Outreach and Marketing Programs, Mary Alice Johnson, CTS

Mary Alice Johnson briefed on the outstanding leads generated at the Health IT Conference and at AFCEA TechNet.  She noted especially that they had great interest in NITAAC’s GWACs from JCS, NSA, the ISAF and FBI.  Customers were brought to NITAAC in part due to the full page NITAAC insert in the Health IT Conference Brochure.

Mary Alice also provided handouts on the upcoming ITS.Gov conference on July 26th at the Ronald Reagan building.

NITAAC outreach is pushing hard for increased participation for its.Gov July 26th.  NITAAC will have a Pavilion at the Ronald Reagan Bldg. where companies can contribute and NITAAC has arranged pre-negotiated discounts for all its partner vendors (Click on flyer to view).  This is the end of year showcase, so please contact Beverly Bricker to discuss participating.

NITAAC’s Outreach and Marketing Program, Beverly Bricker and Donna Smith, CTS, NITAAC Outreach Team

Beverly Bricker and Donna Smith provided a presentation on their program in support of NITAAC for specialized GWAC training on NITAAC’s GWACs as mandated by OMB, and as detailed in NITAAC’s Program Plan for QA and risk management.  (Click on IAC Presentation to view the presentation.)  You may contact Beverly Bricker with you comments at bbricker@ctsmd.com.

Discussion of Acquisition Environment, Victor Powers, NITAAC

Program Director

Victor Powers provided updates on the several OMB mandates related to NITAAC’s GWACs.  The NITAAC training presentation (above) is a description of the first of many steps to address OMB mandates to Executive Agents to provide training to their staff, to customers, and to contractors to assure quality and reduce program risk. NITAAC welcomes comments and recommendations concerning their training program.

There was no news on any new OMB initiatives related to NITAAC’s representation on the OMB GWAC Committee.

Discussion of Agenda Items for IAC Subcommittees Rusty Wall, IAC Co-Chair and Geralynn Franceschini, Marketing Subcommittee Chair

Geralynn Franceschini – Chair of Marketing Subcommittee provided her meeting minutes and briefed on the status future agenda items and results of the marketing subcommittee meeting held in June.  Geralynn distributed her written minutes (see IAC Marketing Subcommittee meeting minutes for June). The major points of discussion included the need for additional Marketing Subcommittee members representing ECS III and the need to prioritize marketing efforts. Geralynn also noted the obvious value of including Marketing subcommittee inputs in the ongoing NITAAC Outreach and Education effort led by CTS.  All agreed with the above and with the value of another Quarterly NITAAC Vendor meeting as soon as possible.  Please note that the next Marketing Subcommittee meeting will be held at NITAAC at 10:00 AM on the second Tuesday of July- July 11th.

Dwight Chamberlain Chair of the Government Affairs Subcommittee and Diane McLaughlin – Chair of the Programs Subcommittee could not attend due to short notice schedule conflicts.  Dwight asked Tony Pease from Unisys to attend the IAC in his place, and to report the results of the IAC at the next Government Affairs subcommittee meeting
