Minutes from the Industry Advisory Council Meeting: March 09, 2000

There was an Industry Advisory Council meeting held March 9, 2000 at the NITAAC facilities on 6011 Executive Blvd. The following list identifies the attendees, their companies, and which contract they represent (if applicable): Dr. Lee (NITAAC), Stuart Kramer (chairman, MultiMax), Marie Monsees (NITAAC), Jeffrey Westerhoff (SRA - CIO-SP), Esther Burgess (CSC - CIO-SP), Jim Collins (Sytel - ImageWorld), Don Wilson (NITAAC), Al Plyler (NITAAC), Tim McAuliffe (Digicon - ECS2), Suzanne Killian-Gear (Doxsys), Elmer Selby (NITAAC), Tim Warrington (NITAAC), Louis Dorsey (ECS Technology - ECS2), Greg Holliday (NITAAC), George Hollendursky (L/M - ImageWorld) and Pam Stearman (Intermetrics/AverStar - CIOSP).

The meeting opened with an update by Dr. Lee concerning the NIH request for executive agency status. NITAAC expects to deliver the package to OMB on 3/17 and is hopeful that Dee Lee will have an opportunity to review and recommend approval of the NITAAC request before she leaves for her new position with the DOD.

NITAAC plans on having another round of vendor meetings later in the Spring

There was a question regarding the marketing of the NITAAC contracts, to which Dr. Lee stated that NITAAC has stepped up its marketing efforts, particularly to the NIH. It anticipates an intensification of NIH marketing on all three contracts in the future.

The committee then reviewed the IAC mission. The two mission highlights identified by the committee were 1) to get accurate informative messages out to the media and 2) to support customer appreciation. On the topic of customer appreciation, the committee established an IAC subcommittee to be chaired by Esther and Elmer, who will begin looking into planning an industry and customer recognition day to provide for recognition of and open exchange with our outstanding customers and highlight the features of the three contracts.

Our next meeting will be April 13th.
