HBCU-UP Proposal Guidelines Review Seminar Series DATES FOR THE EVENTS: Wednesday, December 10, 2008, 11 a.m. to 12 noon EST Wednesday, December 17, 2008, 11 a.m. to 12 noon EST Wednesday, January 7, 2009, 11 a.m. to 12 noon EST Wednesday, January 14, 2009, 11 a.m. to 12 noon EST The Historically Black Colleges and Universities Undergraduate Program (HBCU-UP) at the National Science Foundation (NSF) is hosting a series of online seminars for HBCUs in order to provide information about submitting a proposal under the new HBCU-UP FY 2009 program guidelines. HBCU-UP provides funding to enhance the quality of undergraduate science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education and research at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) as a means to broaden participation in the Nation's STEM workforce. Support is available for Implementation Projects, Planning Grants, Education Research Projects, and Targeted Infusion Projects (NSF 09-512). SCHEDULE OF ONLINE WORKSHOPS: The online seminars are scheduled from 11-12pm EST on the following Wednesdays: December 10th, December 17th, January 7th, and January 14th. All workshops will include similar content. WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE: We recommend that a team of science and engineering faculty and institution-wide administrators from your institution meet in one location to participate in the seminar. Only one member of the team should register for the event, following the instructions below. The team will benefit most from the seminar if the HBCU-UP program information (NSF 09-512) is reviewed before the session and questions are prepared about potential projects. Abstracts of recent awards are available on the HBCU-UP website, http://www.nsf.gov/. HOW TO REGISTER: Registration for the online seminar is now available at https://nsf-training.webex.com/. To register, select the "UPCOMING" tab and select "HBCU-UP Proposal Guidelines Review." The registration password is: hbcunsf. (You may select a date from the drop-down menu). Please register as soon as possible since there are a limited number of slots available; only one person per institution team should register to save space for other participants. The registrant will receive additional instructions via email from messenger@webex.com once registration is confirmed, please watch for this email. A phone line and one computer with an internet connection will be needed to participate in the seminar.
