Visitors to the Louise Bourgeois exhibition will have the opportunity to meet the artist behind the works in the galleries through the recently released documentary Louise Bourgeois: The Spider, the Mistress, and the Tangerine, 2008. Shot over a period of fifteen years by Marion Cajori and Amei Wallach, this film records Bourgeois ruminating upon the deep emotional and psychological roots of her work accompanied by intimate footage of her home and studio and of her extensive oeuvre. Critic/curators Robert Storr and Deborah Wye and the artist's son Jean-Louise Bourgeois are among those who lend their insights to make sense of Bourgeois's complicated psyche and vibrant imagination.

At 100 minutes long, the film is divided into three parts and is as well-suited for those who want a very comprehensive look into the life and art of Louise Bourgeois as for those who wish to stop by for a brief, but rich encounter with the artist.
