Passes & Permits

Most national forest system lands are open, free of charge for your use and enjoyment. User fees that help pay for facilities and services may be charged at some sites. Several types of passes and permits exist for sites that require fees.

Film Permits

National forests are a popular location for the commercial filming and still photography industries.  Many motion pictures, television series and commercials have been filmed on the national forests of Arizona and New Mexico. more »

The USDI Bureau of Land Management and the Forest Service are working together to have Recreation Fee Proposals reviewed by the existing BLM Resource Advisory Councils (BLM-RACs). Expanded Amenity Fees

The Southwestern Region has Expanded Fees for campgrounds, hook-ups, highly developed boat launches, and cabin rentals. Individuals or groups receive direct benefits from sites that require expanded fees.
