Hurricane Research Division
Florida Public Hurricane Loss Projection Model

The Florida Public Hurricane Loss Projection Model is supported by a research grant from the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation. It is being developed by a consortium of Florida universities and NOAA's Hurricane Research Division of the Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory. Below is a list of historical Florida hurricanes used in evaluating this model versus the Base Set of Florida land-falling hurricanes (M-1) created by the Florida Commission on Hurricane Loss Projection Methodology.

Our Base Set is based on the
June 2006 version of the HURDAT file
(truncated to 20th and 21st Centuries only)

containing storm data through the 2005 hurricane season.

Here is Latest version of the HURDAT file
containing storm data through the 2006 hurricane season.
