Supplemental Environmental Assessment - Waterline for Diamondhead Wastewater Treatment Plant, Hancock County, Mississippi (October 2008)
The Diamondhead Water and Sewer District has applied for funding under FEMA’s Public Assistance Program to construct a 12-inch diameter underground water line. This project is part of an overall plan to relocate the District’s existing wastewater treatment plant (WWTP). An Environmental Assessment (EA) for the WWTP relocation project was finalized in January of 2007. The EA analyzed the potential environmental impacts of the District’s proposed project to relocate the WWTP to higher ground outside of the floodplain. FEMA determined that relocation of the WWTP would result in a Finding of No Significant Impact. In accordance with FEMA’s regulations at 44 CFR Part 10 and the National Environmental Policy Act, this Supplemental Environmental Assessment (SEA) has been prepared to analyze the potential environmental impacts of the 12-inch water line that would connect to the WWTP.
