NSF RECEPTION
AND INFORMATION CENTER
 |
The NSF Reception and
Information Center provides a "first stop" for inquiries
about the National Science Foundation's programs, offices,
staff, and publications. It serves both NSF staff and visitors. |
The Reception and Information Center fields a variety of inquiries
by telephone and by e-mail regarding
NSF program information, vacancy information, staff, meeting schedules,
and information regarding location of operational and program guidelines.
In many cases, the Center is able to respond directly with the
answer. When they do not have the answer themselves, the Center
serves as a referral service to the relevant NSF Office or other
information resource.
Copies of many NSF publications are available to visitors in an
area adjacent to the Reception Desk.
The Center is located at the main entrance, one block south of
the Ballston-Marymount University Metro Station on the orange line
(N. Stuart Street between Fairfax Drive and Wilson Blvd.), on the
first floor. Their phone number is (703) 292-5111; they can also
be reached by email at info@nsf.gov.
TDD users may call (703) 292-5090 or (800) 281-8749.
HOMEWORK HELP

NSF typically does not assist individuals (k-12 students, parents, teachers,
caregivers, undergraduates, etc.) who seek information related to recreational
interests or homework or other school assignments. If you need homework or other
research-related help, please ask a local reference librarian or your organization's
or school's media expert, or visit the Library of Congress’s Ask a Librarian
page at: http://www.loc.gov/rr/askalib/.
Some interesting links about science and information especially
for students can be found in our Classroom Resources section. Students looking for information
about science and engineering statistics will find important reference
information on the website of NSF's Science
Resources Statistics Division.
