Mitchell, S.A., Beck, S.L., Hood, L., Moore, K., Rowe, K., & Tanner, E.  Putting Evidence Into Practice (PEP): Interventions to manage fatigue during and following cancer treatment. Clinical Journal of Oncology Nursing, 11(1), 69-78. 

The paper recently published by Mitchell et al reviewing the evidence supporting interventions to prevent and manage fatigue during and following cancer and its treatment was recently featured in Breast Cancer News, an electronic newsletter that provides readers with breaking news on breast cancer research and treatment each day. Fellowships

Gwenyth R. Wallen, RN, PhD accepted a Bravewell Cooperative 2-year fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona. The class of 2008 began their fellowship with a residential week in Tucson, Arizona in January 2007.

 Kathleen Castro, RN, MS, AOCN® accepted as a Fellow into the Oncology Nursing Society Leadership Development Institute for 2007. 

Migdalia V. Rivera-Goba, RN, EdD accepted as a Fellow into the 2007 National Hispana Leadership Institute.



Awards 2006/07

Sandy Mitchell, CRNP, MScN, AOCN®, Predoctoral Fellow and Ellen Tanner RN (formerly clinical research nurse on 3NW) together with members of a national team developed 'Putting Evidence Into Practice (PEP): Interventions to manage fatigue during and following cancer and its treatment'. This evidence summary was awarded the Oncology Nursing Society, Excellence in Oncology Nursing Sensitive Patient Outcomes Award in May 2006.

Kim Cox, RN, MSN, CNS was a Guest Lecturer for the course, "Organizational and Professional Dimension of Advanced Nursing", at the University of Maryland on February 8, 2007. The title of her presentation was Foundations for Ethical Practice.

Gwenyth R. Wallen, RN, PhD and Migdalia V. Rivera-Goba, RN, EdD were Roundtable speakers at the National Coalition of Ethnic Minority Nurses Associations third annual conference, "Creating Research Careers in Nursing: Your Pathway to Success" to be held on March 16-18, 2007 in San Antonio, Texas.
