The AFWS web site is a cooperative effort
managed by the IFLOWS Program of the National Weather Service. Information
and products available at this site are from may sources, and in many
cases collected from or through systems beyond the control the NWS or
any individual cooperator. The availability and accuracy of weather
data via the internet and this site therefore cannot be assured. The
Gage Data/Web Site Trouble Page of this site lists contact points which
have been supplied to us for some of the specific systems contributing
information to this site.

The map below is a

Warning System (AFWS) are part of an IFLOWS network.

The information provided here should not be relied on in lieu of officially disseminated weather forecasts, statements, watches, and warnings. AFWS rainfall information is compiled from approximately 1300 automatic rain gages located throughout the area of the Eastern United States served by the AFWS network. Not all areas in this region have installed gages and an absence of depicted rainfall may not necessarily indicate an absence of actual rainfall. The AFWS database may also from time to time contain erroneous data associated with the radio transmission of data from particular sites. Users should not consider data valid without further verification. For actual gage locations by county, visit the county site at each individual AFWS state site.
