Air Traffic Organization - Operations Planning
Office of Systems Engineering and Safety

The purpose of the Systems Engineering and Safety Office is to design and maintain the National Airspace System (NAS) Enterprise Architecture (EA) and provide systems engineering and safety leadership to bridge the gap between today‘s NAS and the Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen).

The Office provides effective systems engineering and safety processes to ensure that the NAS Enterprise Architecture meets the current and future demands of ATO customers and operating service units while reflecting the NextGen vision.
