* Effective October 1, 2005, NOAA Research reorganized making several notable changes to the organizational structure.

  1. The Office of Global Programs and the Arctic Research Office were consolidated into the Climate Program Office.
  2. The Office of Ocean Exploration & Research was created to include the National Undersea Research Program and the Office of Ocean Exploration.
  3. Five laboratories colocated in the Boulder, CO, research complex were consolidated into the Earth System Research Laboratory. Web sites for the consolidated labs will remain available until all information can be transferred to the new site. The following labs were affected:
