    Update Your Organization's Profile

  1. Select Main Menu | View/Update Your Organization's Profile to access the Modify Grantee/Contractor Organization - Update Organization view-only page.
  2. Select Update Profile. The Modify Grantee/Contractor Organization - Update Organization editable page is displayed.
  3. Enter the grantee/contractor organization information, noting the following:
    • Fields with an asterisk (*) are required.
    • The Organization DUNS number is optional. However, all entered values must pass a system validation check.
    • Address information is not required. However, if you supply one field, all fields with a carat (^) are required.
  4. Click Submit to enter the information. The Verify Organizational Profile - Update Organization Information page is displayed.
  5. Click Submit to accept the information as it is displayed on the verification page. The Update Organizational Profile confirmation page is displayed confirming the organization profile changes were saved to the database.

    OR

    Click Modify Organizational Profile to return to the previous screen and modify the organization profile.

Grantee/Contractor Organization

The full name of the Extramural Grantee or Contractor Organization.

Organization DUNS The Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) number, provided by Dun & Bradstreet, is a nine-digit number that uniquely identifies a business entity. Entry of a DUNS number is optional; however, all entered values must pass a system validation check.

Note: Entry of a DUNS number is not valid for federal iEdison User Profiles or the NIH iEdison Accounts Administrator.

OTT Phone

The phone number of the Office of Technology Transfer or equivalent at the Extramural Organization.

The format of this field is: (123) 456-7890 in countries using the North American Numbering Plan, including the U.S., Canada, and most of the Caribbean. Other countries use the country code, followed by the city code and number (e.g., +44 023422).

OTT Fax

The phone number of the Office of Technology Transfer or equivalent at the Extramural Organization.

The format of this field is: (123) 456-7890 in countries using the North American Numbering Plan, including the U.S., Canada, and most of the Caribbean. Other countries use the country code, followed by the city code and number (e.g., +44 023422).

The address of the Office of Technology Transfer or equivalent at the Extramural Organization. The address is composed of four street address lines, city, state, zip, and country.

Note: Address information is not required. However, if any address information is supplied, all fields with a ^ next to them become required. This includes: Address Line 1, City, State, Zip, and Country.

Organization Type

The organization type of the Extramural Grantee or Contractor Organization. Select the most appropriate type from the list (see below for details).

Small Business - Grantee or contractor eligible to receive SBIR or STTR grant/contract awards.
Large Business - For-profit organization that does not qualify for SBIR or STTR grant or contract awards. These organizations are typically recipients of government contracts.
Non-Profit - Grantee or contractor organizations that hold not-for-profit status according to the U.S. Internal Revenue Service.
Individual - Individual inventor to whom invention rights have been assigned.
Other - Any grantee or contractor organization that does not fit into the other specified types. Selection of this option must be accompanied by a description (see following field).

If "Other", describe

If the Organization Type = Other, please provide an appropriate description of the grantee or contractor organization's type.

Are batch uploads allowed by the organization? The Batch Uploads Allowed field indicates whether of not the extramural organization's users should be allowed to access the batch upload functionality within the iEdison system.
Are the inventions submitted by the organization assigned to the user? The Inventions Assigned to User field indicates whether inventions for the extramural organization should automatically be assigned to the user who added them into the iEdison system.
Month that begins the utilization period The utilization reporting period month is the month that begins the annual invention utilization reporting cycle for the organization.

Prefix
(e.g. Dr., Ms., Rev.)

The prefix to the name of the Signatory for the Grantee or Contractor Organization.

First Name

The first name of the Signatory for the Grantee or Contractor Organization.

Middle Name The middle name or initial of the Signatory for the Grantee or Contractor Organization.
Last Name The last name of the Signatory for the Grantee or Contractor Organization.
Suffix
(e.g. Jr., Nobel)
Any suffix to the name of the Signatory for the Grantee or Contractor Organization.
Title The title of the Signatory for the Grantee or Contractor Organization.
E-mail Address

The e-mail address of the Signatory for the Grantee or Contractor Organization.

The format for this field is test@test.com.

Phone The phone number of the Signatory for the Grantee or Contractor Organization.

Ext. The phone number extension of the Signatory for the Grantee or Contractor Organization.
