Dolly Varden char and rainbow trout are caught recreationally along the Kenai River. Participation in these fisheries has increased in recent years, with annual catches of each species sometimes exceeding 100,000 fish. In order to better understand the basic life history of these fish in the Kenai River, migratory behavior and seasonal distribution were studied with the use of radio telemetry.
