The research activities at NeMO provide an extraordinary educational opportunity, both from the daily reports from expeditions at sea and from creative learning materials based on NeMO results. Below we feature curriculum materials designed for high school and middle school students.

Notes on formats and version numbers of the NeMO Curriculum:

FORMATS: The Powerpoint files have the best resolution, the HTML files the least. The HTML pages are the same as available under the tables of contents links above, but can be downloaded to your hard disk and then viewed off-line with any web browser. Part 3 is available in both Powerpoint 98 and Powerpoint 2000 (or above) formats because they embed movies differently. Pick the one that is right for your version of Powerpoint.
VERSION 2b (December 2003): The only change from version 2a to 2b is some corrections to the temperature and depth plots in Part 4 and the PDF files are reduced in size.
VERSION 2a
(July 2003): The main change from version 2 to 2a, is that the Powerpoint file for Part 3 of the curriculum is now also available in Powerpoint 2000 format. This solves a problem associated with the Powerpoint 98 version of Part 3 not playing movies properly in newer versions of Powerpoint. This is not an issue with the other parts of the curriculum which have no embedded movies. A few typos were also corrected in Part 2.
VERSION 2 (October 2002): This version included lots of improvements over version 1 based on student and teacher input, including a new Part 3 with movies. If you have version 1 of the curriculum, you should definitely replace your old files with the new ones linked above.
VERSION 1 (June 2001): The first version of the curriculum, which had 3 parts instead of 4.

The NeMO curriculum was created with funding from the National Science Foundation's GeoScience Education Program. We welcome your feedback on the NeMO curriculum. Thank you for your interest!
