State of Utah Constitution
Follow this link to the Utah Constitution. Read the original text and see a facsimile of the original document. The constitution was adopted November 5, 1895, by a vote of 31,305 to 7,607. On January 4, 1896, the president of the United States issued a proclamation admitting the state of Utah to the Union. The inauguration of state officers took place on January 6, 1896.
