The Chief of Staff provides direct assistance to the Associate Director for Administration and Budget, and is responsible for the following functions:
- Finalizing MMS-wide organizational and staffing realignments;
- Significant special projects, reviews, evaluations, benchmarking, and studies for the MMS Directorate and Associate Directorate;
- Strategic planning;
- Delegations of authority;
- Directives and policy management;
- Coordinating A&B’s management control reviews and audits;
- Budget planning, execution, and formulation for the Administrative Operations and the General Support Services budgets;
- Emergency management and continuity of operations program;
- Planning, implementing, and directing the MMS physical and personnel security programs, including development and implementation of procedures, methods, and techniques for protection of proprietary and national security information;
- Developing, implementing, and evaluating the MMS safety and environmental health programs;
- MMS Transportation Subsidy Program;
- Supervising the Support Services Chief.
