All Disaster Recovery Centers in Louisiana to Close on July 4 for Independence Day

NEW ORLEANS - Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) in Louisiana will be closed on Tuesday, July 4, for Independence Day.

Officials from The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Louisiana Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, said all DRCs will be open on a regular schedule – Monday through Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. – with the exception of July 4.

FEMA manages federal response and recovery efforts following any national incident. FEMA also initiates mitigation activities, works with state and local emergency managers, and manages the National Flood Insurance Program. FEMA became part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security on March 1, 2003
