SBA selects Army Garrison-Hawaii Contracting Branch for "Outstanding Contract Support and Utilization of the 8(a) Program" award

Small Business Administration (SBA) selected Army-Garrison Hawaii Contracting Branch as one of three recipients for the "Outstanding Contract Support and Utilization of the 8(a) Program" award. This award is given to a contracting agency that has demonstrated extraordinary support of 8(a) firms by awarding the highest percentage of contracts to different 8(a) firms. In fiscal year 2002, the Army Garrison Hawaii awarded 21 contracts to 8(a) firms with 21 of those awarded to different 8(a) contractors. The award was presented by Congressman Neil Abercrombie on August 1, 2003 at the Minority Enterprise Development Week Awards Luncheon held at the Hale Koa Hotel in Honolulu.
