Genome Resources

Entrez Genome | NCBI: Provides views for a variety of genomes, complete chromosomes, sequence maps with contigs, and integrated genetic and physical maps. The database is organized in six major organism groups: Archaea, Bacteria, Eukaryotae, Viruses, Viroids, and Plasmids and includes complete chromosomes, organelles and plasmids as well as draft genome assemblies.

GeneCards | Crown Human Genome Center & Weizmann Institute of Science: GeneCards® is an integrated database of human genes that includes automatically-mined genomic, proteomic and transcriptomic information, as well as orthologies, disease relationships, SNPs, gene expression, gene function, and service links for ordering assays and antibodies.

GENES | KEGG : collection of gene catalogs for all complete genomes generated from publicly available resources, primarily NCBI Reference Sequences. Records are subject to SSDB computation and manual KO assignment (gene annotation).

MedMiner | NCI Genomic and Bioinformatics Group: MedMiner is a filter that extracts and organizes relevant sentences in the literature based on a gene, gene-gene or gene-drug query. This tool combines the GeneCards and PubMed search engines with user input and automated server-side scripts in an integrated text filtering system.

Genome Project | NCBI : A searchable collection of complete and incomplete (in-progress) large-scale sequencing, assembly, annotation, and mapping projects for cellular organisms. The database is organized into organism-specific overviews that function as portals from which all projects in the database pertaining to that organism can be browsed and retrieved.

Genome Browser Home | UCSC : Provides a display of any requested portion of genomes at any scale, together with dozens of aligned annotation tracks. Half of the annotation tracks are computed at UCSC from publicly available sequence data. The remaining tracks are provided by collaborators worldwide. Users can also add their own custom tracks to the browser for educational or research purposes.

BIOBASE Databases: Collection of database from BIOBASE, Biologische Datenbanken GmbH.

GeneSNP | University of Utah Genome Center: The goal of GeneSNPs is to provide an integrated, gene-centric view of cDNA, genomic and SNP sequence information for human genes. GeneSNP is developed and maintained by the University of Utah Genome Center with funding from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) as part of their Environmental Genome Project (EGP).
