Foresthill...The American River Ranger District
will continue prescribed burning along Sugar Pine Road
between Old Sugar Pine Road and the Foresthill Divide Road
today. The first phase of this project was successfully
completed with 190 acres burned last week. We hope to
complete this project this week, weather permitting, for a
total of 340 acres.
Burning
today will be along Sugar Pine Road and Off Highway
Vehicle trails. Visibility may be diminished due to smoke.
If you are traveling in the area please stay alert for
signs warning of the activity, turn on headlights, reduce
speed, and watch for personnel.
Traffic
controls may occur on Sugar Pine Road and Foresthill OHV
trail loop 3 and connector 3-5 for traffic and firefighter
safety. Warning signs and a Forest Service employee will
be stationed at sites where fire activity poses a hazard,
until the danger has diminished.
Please
call the Foresthill Ranger Station at (530) 367-2224 for
current updates. After hours, information on trail
closures will be posted in the Recreation Information
portion of the phone system recording. This information
will be updated daily as the burn program progresses.
