Join us at the Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve Theater every Thursday night in April. We are feature great speakers who are eager to share their knowledge.

Portraits of Life in the World's Most Remote Island Sanctuary
are an amazing set of photographs, taken on location in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands by David Littschwager and Susan Middleton, are now on display at the Kaua‘i Museum. Science Plan Scoping Meeting

Building upon previous efforts to develop research priorities for the Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument, a Natural Resources Science Plan will be developed for the ecosystems of the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands. At the meeting, Monument managers and scientists will present a review of the plan’s proposed research framework, click here for more informaiton.

SEPTEMBER 2: KAHULUI, MAUI
Seeing Through a Different Lens • 11am
A talk with Dr. Randy Kosaki • Maui Arts & Cultural Center

Program Director Hōkūlani Holt-Padilla plays host to an insightful discussion based on the cultural connections of Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument.Dr. Randy Kosaki, research coordinator and chief scientist for the Monument, will discuss the importance of protecting this vast wilderness that contains important natural and cultural heritage resources. Portraits of Life in the World's Most Remote Island Sanctuary

The set of photographs will return to home to the Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument offices in mid-November where they will be on view for the public. SEPTEMBER 15: HONOLULU, O‘AHU
3rd Annual NOAA Cleanup Day &"Get the Drift and Bag it!"

This statewide marine debris clean up event is part of the Ocean Conservancy's International Coastal Cleanup. NOAA staff will be cleaningup from 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. in the Ala Wai Small Boat Harbor and Magic Island area.

February 2, 2007 - Our Sea of Islands Public Forum and Reception: Marine Managed Areas and World Heritage. 6 - 8 PM, East-West Center's Keoni Auditorium, UH Manoa. Free event and parking. Click here for the poster.
