DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1415Z APRIL 12, 2009
North central US: A light haze can be seen through the states of Minnesota, Wisconsin and northern Iowa before being obscured by clouds to the west. This is likely remnant smoke from yesterdays' fires. Gulf of Mexico/Texas: Another area of haze is moving northward through the western portion of the Gulf of Mexico and into southeastern Texas. This is remnant smoke from fires throughout the Yucatan Peninsula and Central America. -Salemi THE FORMAT OF THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS BEING MODIFIED. IT WILL NO LONGER DESCRIBE THE VARIOUS PLUMES THAT ARE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES.
