Benefits of an AEA membership
include:
-
Exceptional Learning Experiences:
AEA’s annual meeting includes over 50 workshops, plus
hundreds of conference sessions at which to learn from professional
colleagues. We also partner with the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention to offer the AEA/CDC Evaluation Institute each summer where
beginning to intermediate level evaluators can sample a range of
training opportunities. AEA members receive significant discounts on
workshop, conference, and
institute registration.
-
Essential Reading:
Members receive hardcopy and electronic subscriptions
to AEA’s two journals, The American Journal of Evaluation (AJE)
and New Directions for Evaluation (NDE) – and, new in 2007,
members also receive electronic access to both current and back
content from Evaluation Review and Evaluation and the Health
Professions right from their desktops.
-
Cost Savings:
In addition to
registration discounts, members receive twenty-percent (20%) off on
the majority of publications in the field when ordered directly from
our publishing partners - Corwin Press, Guilford Publications, Lyceum
Books, SAGE, Jossey Bass and Wiley.
-
Promotion of your services:
Consultants and those working in consulting firms may
submit a listing to AEA’s searchable “Find an Evaluator” database on
the AEA website. This is among the most active site components and a
great way to get the message out about your firm and availability for
consulting.
-
Networking and Community:
Membership includes participation in up to five of
AEA’s 41 Topical Interest Groups, each one a professional community of
colleagues with similar interests and professional foci.
Members also receive regular
newsletters and electronic updates regarding the latest happenings
in the field and the Association, and a
listing in
and access to the AEA Online Membership Directory, a key resource
for networking among colleagues.
As a new member, we encourage you to join the EVALTALK listserv and get in on the lively discussions. And, by all means,
please feel free to contact any of your fellow AEA members. You'll find that we
are a very friendly and welcoming group.
Annual membership is $80 for standard membership, $60 for
members who currently hold their primary membership as part of the Canadian
Evaluation Society and wish to hold joint membership, and $30 for
full-time students. If you have any questions about your membership
or about AEA, please contact the AEA Office at any time. |
