Abstract:

This newsletter discusses decisions that persons living with HIV (PLWH) make about individual health care needs. It discusses treatment options, access to available health care services for PLWH, and the role of HIV-positive peer advocates and mentors who assist patients with self-management tasks that include education and counseling. The newsletter summarizes principles important for shaping HIV policies and programs for PLWH. It includes tables and references.
