• A Ready Reservist or National Guard member who is mobilized to active duty status
• A Ready Reservist or National Guard member who is demobilized and returns to reserve status
• A member who completes active duty and is assigned to Ready Reserve

Note: The automatic coverage feature of FSGLI applies to any of the above duty status' - no matter if they have declined or reduced coverage previously. No SGLV 8285A needs to be completed to have the coverage. However, a payroll action may need to be done in some of these situations in order to begin premium collection. If no coverage or less than maximum coverage is desired, the member must complete an SGLV 8286A at the time of entry onto the new duty status.
