Ground-Based Navigation Group

The mission of the Ground-Based Navigation Group is to ensure NAS navigation solutions are implemented in the most efficient and effective manner to satisfy customer needs. Serve as the Navigation Services Leadership Team Liaison and program integrator with regional and HQ organizations.

Objectives

To replace obsolete MALSR and ALSF-2 rigid structures with frangible structures. The replacements will enhance safety, reduce energy consumption, and maintain costs.

Accomplishments

• Returned to service 3 ALSF-2 and 8 MALSR Systems as of 9/30/03
• Commissioned 2 ALSF-2 and 10 MALSR Systems as of 9/30/03
