CARES Decision
White City, Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Center and Clinics
This concludes the Capital Asset Realignment for Enhanced Services (CARES) Business Plan Study for White City. The Secretary has reviewed the contractor’s Stage 1 report and the recommendations of the Local Advisory Panel (LAP) and concluded that VA will not consider the transfer of services at White City. However, VHA will continue to analyze the on-campus location of the facilities as a part of the VA capital planning process which includes an existing domiciliary capital project. A range of options was developed by the contractor and the Secretary has decided to have VA proceed with evaluating two options that maintain modern, safe and secure standards either through renovation or new construction. These options will also consider potential consolidations on campus.
