Annual Index of Patents
Issued from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
2001 through 2005

The Annual Indexes to Patents Issued from the USPTO for the years 2001 through 2005 are now available. These electronic annual indexes are unique from previous paper annual indexes in that both the indexes and Official Gazette – Patents (OG) bibliographic records for the year are now included in this one source.

The OG records contain bibliographic information, including classification, inventor and assignee, as well as a representative claim and drawing (if applicable). The OG records are indexed and browsable by classification and type of patent (utility, plant, etc.), in addition to patentee name and geographical location of the inventor. Links are provided from all indexes to the record for that patent.

The 2005 Annual Index also includes the Cross Referenced Classifications index which allows the user to look up the additional classifications that the patent is listed under. The Cross Referenced Classifications have also been added to the gazette pages to mimic the actual front page image.

The year’s Official Gazette Notices, covering both patents and trademarks, are included as is the Consolidated Listing of Official Gazette Notices Re-Patent and Trademark Office Practices and Procedures. This publication is a compilation of the most important notices and rule changes which have been published in the Official Gazette from July 1, 1964, through the end of each year. Appendices include a summary of the number of Patents, Defensive Publications, and Statutory Invention Registrations issued from 1836 through the end of each year as well as a listing of Patent and Trademark Depository Libraries (PTDLs).

Due to the large amount of data, the Annual Indexes for 2001 through 2005 are published on one DVD-ROM disc, not on CD-ROM. The price of each index is $315.00 until December 31, 2006.

The Index of Patents Issued from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office will continue to be published in a paper format through the 2000 Index. The paper publication will continue to be supplied by the Superintendent of Documents, U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO).
