Michael Gazzaniga, Ph.D., is the outgoing David T. McLaughlin Distinguished
University Professor in Cognitive Neuroscience and Director of the
Center for Cognitive Neuroscience at Dartmouth College and the incoming
Director of Sage Center for the Study of Mind at the University
of California, Santa Barbara. Dr. Gazzaniga conducts research on
how the brain enables the mind. He is a fellow of the American Neurological
Association, as well as the president of the American Psychological
Society and a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences
and the Institute of Medicine. His publications include Cognitive
Neurosciences III (2004), The New Cognitive Neurosciences
(2000) and The Mind's Past (1998). His new book, The
Ethical Brain, was published in 2005.
