District News:  December 02, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals arrested a Fremont man who was wanted by the Republic of Mexico for a rape that was committed in 2001. Martin Alvarez-Landeros fled to the United States to avoid prosecution by authorities in the state of Jalisco. Mexican authorities requested formal extradition and the Department of Justice Office of International Affairs requested the assistance of the United States Marshals Service in locating the subject.
