The United States International Trade Commission (ITC) today reaffirmed its negative determination in connection with the remand of its five-year (sunset) review of imports of tapered roller bearings from Japan.

The Commission found on remand that revoking the existing antidumping duty order on imports of tapered roller bearings from Japan would not be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury to an industry in the United States within a reasonably foreseeable time.

Vice Chairman Jennifer A. Hillman and Commissioner Stephen Koplan voted in the negative. Commissioner Marcia E. Miller voted in the affirmative. Chairman Deanna Tanner Okun did not participate in this review.

The review involving this product was remanded to the ITC by the U.S. Court of International Trade (CIT) on April 24, 2003. The ITC had previously made a negative determination in June 2000.

The ITC's remand determination will be delivered to the CIT by July 23, 2003.
