Mapping the Landscape of Deployment Related Adjustment and Mental Disorders: Meeting Summary of Working Group to Inform Research
The conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan represent the most sustained combat operations for the U.S. military since the Vietnam War. In May 2006 a meeting was convened by the Department of Veterans Affairs, the National Institute of Mental Health, and the U.S. Army Medical Research and Material Command to discuss progress and challenges in addressing deployment-related adjustment problems and mental disorders related to these conflicts. A report summarizing the meeting discussions and suggestions is now available on the VA Research and Development web site here.
