  NAP: mobile medical van
  Question
Our health center already receives section 330 funding to provide care at two sites. However, we would like to expand to another population using a medical mobile van. Can we apply for a New Access Point grant for this service?
  Answer
New Access Points (HRSA 08-077) funding can be used to support a mobile medical van in the delivery of primary care services as a new access point. The new mobile medical van must be added to an existing fleet or be a new addition for a program that did not previously have a mobile medical van in its approved scope of project, and the van must serve one or more new locations. The van must operate on a regular, fixed schedule and provide primary care through the use of clinicians who generate clinical encounters.

New Access Points (HRSA 08-077) funding cannot be used to expand the hours or operations of an existing mobile van (i.e. add new providers or services, expand hours at current locations, etc), nor can it be used for upkeep or repair of an existing van. Please see the instructions for program Form 5b: Service Sites in Appendix D of the New Access Points (HRSA 08-077) guidance for more information on documenting mobile vans as service delivery sites. Please see Specific Requirements/Expectations on page 8 of the New Access Points (HRSA 08-077) guidance for more information on the use of mobile medical vans.
