Abstract:

This policy brief presents a study that compares the results of hospital financial performance when using the Medicare Cost Report (MCR) versus the audited hospital financial statement. It is intended to test the assumption that MCR data is a valid indicator of changes in hospital financial well-being. The policy brief includes figures, references and appendices.
