Briggs to Brown
Have you heard of the Supreme Court case Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka, Kansas? It was the 1954 case that declared racial segregation in public schools unconstitutional, that is, that it was against the law to make blacks and whites attend different public schools . But Brown was preceded by another similar case that reached the Supreme Court first. The case was Briggs v. Elliott, and Thurgood Marshall was the main lawyer for the case.
