Career Development Program

In 2006, VA’s Office of Research and Development (ORD) restructured the career development program to streamline research career development opportunities for clinicians and nonclinicians under one ORD-wide program. The Career Development program is intended to attract, develop and retain talented researchers working in areas of particular importance to improving the health and care of our nation’s veterans. This program will not replace the Research Career Scientist awards for VA’s most accomplished non-clinicians who have achieved independence and national/international stature; however, it does address the needs of early-career, non-clinician research scientists previously served by the Merit Review Entry and Associate Investigator programs.

For more information about HSR&D Career Development opportunities that includes application deadlines and a new Handbook with eligibility requirements, visit the ORD website at http://www.research.va.gov/funding/CDP.cfm, or contact:
