Forest Travel Management Plan Information

In accordance with new travel management policy: Travel Management; Designated Routes and Areas for Motor Vehicle Use; Final Rule, announced November 2, 2005, the Ashley National Forest is preparing an environmental assessment (EA) to establish a forest wide system of designated routes and areas for motorized travel. As directed under the National Environmental Policy Act (1969), the Forest Service will be seeking comments from individuals, organizations, local and state governments, and other federal agencies that may be interested in or affected by the proposed action. We invite everyone with an interest in travel planning, OHV use or other kinds of recreation to help us designate the system.
