Research Interests

Persistent nociceptive input is known to induce neuronal adaptation and synaptic plasticity in the spinal cord. To understand the molecular basis of these changes, the focus of my study has been on 1) searching for genes that are altered in the dorsal spinal cord during inflammatory hyperalgesia by subtraction hybridization and 2) regulation of the neuropeptide FF and NPFF receptor which are strikingly localized in the dorsal spinal cord to asses the role of the NPFF system during inflammatory hyperalgesia.
